Candace! (from Phineas & Ferb)

Cate was in a drawing mood, so we decided to attempt everyone’s favorite heroine whose head is shaped like a capitalĀ “P” … Candace Flynn from “Phineas & Ferb.”

There are lots of pictures of Candace smiling on Google images, but Cate opted for one of her screaming with righteous indignation, which, if you know Cate, is fairly spot on.

For those trying to learn to draw with shapes and get lots of character and emotion out of simple figures, you can do a lot worse than spend some time studying the character style on this Disney cartoon.

Ducky Momo!

CATE IS BACK! I am very excited to announce that our ongoing talks with perpetually striking artist, Cate Miner, have reached a very satisfactory conclusion resulting in her return to the 5MM fold. And, there was much rejoicing.

Tonight, we present Ducky Momo, a throwaway character on Disney’s Phineas and Ferb that the girls and I love. Ducky is Candace’s favorite cartoon character and the embodiment of all things Pokemon … but not … ’cause that would be copyright infringement. And, the House o’ Mouse don’t roll like that.

Perry the Platypus

So … I’m not much of a Disney fan, but the girls love it like crack. And, while most of the programming makes me doubt that there’s any goodness or creativity left in the world, Phineas and Ferb is legitimately funny. In the tradition of the best cartoons, 65% of it goes right over the heads of little children. Grace wanted to take on secret agent Perry the Platypus … and we had a lot of fun with it.
