1 more to 500 … DRAW WITH US!

This weekend, our 500th post will go up … and we hope you’ll draw with us. Grace’s first 5MM was Ms. Marvel, so she’s our subject. If you, or the kid(s) in your life, want to join in … take 5-10 minutes, draw the new Captain Marvel, scan and send to marvelsmartass at live dot com by Friday morning!

Tigers! Tigers! Tigers!

The girls, Kim & I were fortunate enough to visit the circus this last weekend … and Gracie was quite taken with the tigers. She drew the picture above while the tumblers were on. I loved it, but was compelled to draw some famous tigers — Prince Tuftan from “Kamandi,” Shere Kahn from the “Jungle Book” and Mr. Tawny Tawky from Fawcett’s Captain Marvel.

And, one more to grow on … Tony!

Dad’s Doodles – Dennises the Menaces

It was a long day at work, so the only way I could think of to unwind was to draw the US and UK versions of Dennis the Menace as Captain Marvel and Black Adam. Totally logical right?

It was a really long day.

Captain(s) Marvel! by Grace (7) & Dad

Grace and I love to see what the boys over at ComicTWART are going to draw this week. And, today, they started C.C. Beck’s Captain Marvel (or Shazam!, as you may know him). He was up in our rotation, so it was perfect timing.

But, having already drawn Marvel’s Monica Rambeau version of Captain Marvel, we decided to draw a few of the 56,736 characters who have born the Captain Marvel name … including this silly version.

Hoppy the Marvel Bunny! by Cate (5), Grace (6) & Dad

Tonight, Grace said … “I wanna’ draw a bunny.” And, I saw it as the ideal time to take on the Art Baltazar version of Hoppy the Marvel Bunny from Tiny Titans! I had a ball tonight.

P.S. If you haven’t noticed, Cate had herself a little birthday on Sunday and is now 5! P.S. I know her bunny is terrifying. Please, don’t tell her.

Captain Marvel! by Cate (4), Grace (6) and Dad

Tonight was my night to pick, so I went back to one of my favorite … and criminally underutilized … Marvel characters, Monica Rambeau … Captain Marvel. (Yes. I refuse to call her “Photon.”)
